New Brunswick reflects America at its best- where cultures and diversity converge. Beyond City Center, there are a number of distinct neighborhoods. To the north, just past the train station, you'll find Rutgers University's historic College Avenue Campus, the lively Easton Avenue area, and many of the city's healthcare institutions. West/northwest of City Center is the thriving Esperanza Neighborhood and Hungarian communities. Rutgers' Douglass and Cook campuses anchor neighborhoods to the south filled with tree-lined streets and include Unity Square community center, a number of municipal parks, and a working farm and botanical garden on campus. Banked by the Raritan River on the east, there is much to discover throughout New Brunswick.
